Link Below is an article featured in the Sioux Falls Vessel about my show at the Sioux Falls Design Center.

Pictured right is of the works in this incredible and unique gallery space in the heart of Downtown Sioux Falls.
My show is an artistic improvisation and direct response to my favorite jazz tunes I have grown up playing and listened to. In my prints you will see the recurring theme of 5 staff lines that are symbolic of my roots to music as it ties directly into my art. Some of these lines won’t be the same in every piece but are still present and symbolic. They also mimic the rhythmic meters and or notation lengths in the music itself. Some have thick or thin lines representing the tempo or feel of the music. Color also plays a role as a symbolic and expressive response to the mood, style and feel of the music as color reflects a particular style of music. For example, Blue in Green by Miles Davis is given cool colors as it relates to the style of blues and the thin and few, yet very important notes heard in cool jazz. Like in music, art holds hidden meanings through the use of colors, textures, and symbols to underline the meaning of the piece.
